History


West Palm beach is the largest city in Palm Beach, Florida. A gentleman by the name of Henry Flagler bought the land that would be known as West Palm Beach for the modest sum of $45,000. It was purchased as a place for the servants who worked in the nearby hotels to stay. Its name was originally spelled as one long word but was later changed, as it became the oldest municipality in the county. In the year 1960 Palm Beach Mall was constructed. It was the areas first enclosed shopping center making an even more desirable location to live in.
