A city located in Broward County, Florida, Plantation's motto is "the grass is greener." Plantation's city hall was featured in the movie "There's Something About Mary," and this city's famous golf course is the site of the infamous pool scene in Caddy Shack. Plantation was named after an owner of the land, of the Everglade Plantation Company.

The city of Plantation has a total square-mile area of over 21 square miles, most of which is land. As of 2000 census, there are more then 80,000 people living in Plantation, with over 22,000 families living in the city. Average size of each family was about three people.

In Plantation there is an aquatic center, tennis, swimming pools, lots of parks, botanical gardens, and the Everglades Camp; there is lots to do here.

Plantation's aquatic center is perhaps this city's best attraction. The Central Park Aquatics Complex holds a couple of Olympic-sized swimming pools, a competition pool and a teaching pool. The competition pool is used for swimming practice and swimming competitions. The teaching pool is wheelchair accessible, and has it's own bath-house with it's very own showers and lockers.

Plantation's aquatic center even has a water playground for the children. Set in on the deck of the swimming pool within it's own fenced-in area, it's matte and zero depth surface creates an enjoyable and safe place for children to play. Instead of a regular playground, it is a water playground, and so is that much more fun for the children to play on.

You can also play tennis on one of the many courts around Plantation. With vistas of the greenest grass, these courts are beautiful and spacious. Tennis is a fun sport to participate it, and these vistas around Plantation just make playing that much more of a joy.
